I think it was around this time that I went to the Melbourne StitchNBitch at the Borders in the Jam Factory. They are extraordinary knitters. I've yet to get involved in knitting meetuups in my own home town although I did go to two at the beginning of the year. One day I'll go to a north county meetup unless I hear the siren song of knitting at home on the couch first.
So what have I knit? Sophie, by Julie Anderson for Black Sheep Bags out of Patons Classic Wool in Red. I used about 1.5 skeins and modified the pattern
slightly. I roughly followed the pattern. I cast on 55 stitches for the base and knit 38 rows for the base and then picked up stitches around the base to
start the sides. I decreased as the pattern described loosely every 10 rows for 60 rows and then knit a ittle bit more before I cast off. The strap is of two 3-stitch icord twisted as described in the pattern. Here she is prefelted.
Over the Holiday weekend I also sold some lampwork beads on EBay. Yeah!
Thanks for all the bids. I made new presentation cards for the beads. I like the drk green simple cards the best. I'll continue to experiment because I want to incorporate the logo (courtesy of EE) that is on the light green card and my website info.
