Modular Knits and Luxury Knits
I love my library. I love how I can pick out a book online to place a hold and renew my books online. Last visit I picked up Modular knits by Iris Schreirer and Luxury Knits by Amanda Griffiths.
Modular Knits by Iris SchreierI like the idea that this book presents of knitting various shapes and in various directions with no ends to sew. The author uses a lot of knitting abbreviations that I haven't seen before. For instance, s2psso means slip 2 stitches and pass first slipped stitch over the second slipped stitch. If/when I made a project from this book I would start with a felted purse using her techniques but not necessarily one of the designs in the book.
Luxury Knits by Amanda GriffithsThis book has a bunch of regular knitting patterns. By regular I mean a garter stitch scarf, a pillow, a v-neck sweater and other ordinary projects. However the yarn specified for each project is beautiful and looks yummy in all the photographs. The projects I like are some simple socks of Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran, the v-neck sweater of Classic Cashsoft and a lace cardigan and camisole of Jaeger Matchmaker Merino.
Sigh. So many things I want to make. But...Must. Finish. Projects. Already. Have.
