I'm almost to the toe on my first Sundara Violet over Black sock. The sleeves of my Drops cardigan I don't feel are right so i'm pausing for a while until I can think of a solution. We went to PB over the weekend and happened upon Needlecraft Cottage on the way to the skate board shop. Neat store, nice people. I came out with two skiens with of Cascade Ecological Wool (planned for patons urban aran cardigan ala Brooklyn Tween) and four skiens of Malabrigo silky merino in the color way amoroso 157 for some sort of wrap.

I was pleased to get this handpainted sock yarn from Hazel Knits even if that makes 4 pairs of socks in the queue. I want to knit them in the order purchase so I have started knitting Diagonal Cross-Rib Socks from Interweave's Favorite socks with Sundara's violet over black. It is/was hard to get Sundara's yarn and soon Sundara will be going to a subscription only service, which I doubt I will do because I want to buy the exact yarn I want not what is selected for me.

This year we had a huge apricot crop and were able to make two batches of jam plus cobbler from a Gayle's Bakery cookbook and some jam from strawberries grown in a field near our house. So sweat. We also froze a bunch of apricots for future cobblers as suggested in the cookbook.

I had to post a final picture of my Lorna Lace's pinstripe socks. Finished months ago, never worn until now.

The Drops cardigan continues, although at a glacial pace. The body in now complete and seems to be about the right size. I am modifiying the sleeves because the pattern specifies a very wide, long and lacy cuff. I will still do the lace pattern but only one repeat (40 rows) which ends up almost halfway up my forearm. i have cut down the width to about half, 38 stitches instead of 62. Now I have to figure out the modifications to the increases to get me to the sleeve cap with the right number of stitches.
